ICONITO – Človek & Klaun (CD)

Iconito is a young Slovak group that connects folk-themed topics in its songs, visuals, and musical arrangements. Its vocalist Kristián Dufinec has also performed as a soloist of the artistic ensemble Lúčnica. Human & Clown is their debut album with hit potential, which the band demonstrated right away with their first single I Want Change. Through this track they encouraged young people to participate in the presidential elections in Slovakia. However, it should be noted that the band itself does not support any political parties. This relates to the fact that its members in their work enjoy addressing social topics. The lyrics of Kristián Dufinec, on which the band builds, are about truth and believability and rely on straightforwardness and the language of the contemporary person. Musically, the debut is characterized by emotive melodic lines and genre diversity. It is divided into two parts of six songs. The first titled 'Human' (track 1-6) and the second titled 'Clown' (Track 7-12). They describe two faces of the human soul and its unpredictability. While the first part is more serious in terms of themes, because it moralizes and reveals human faults, the second describes him as a hedonist and lightens his existence. The tracks are also more rock-oriented in the first part. In the Clown section, on the contrary, they move into the colorfulness of other genres.
