Art Pepper – Modern Art (Vinyl)

Released April 4, 2025, "Modern Art" by Art Pepper is a classic example of West Coast jazz. Recorded in December 1956 and January 1957 in Hollywood, the album features melodic alto saxophone solos accompanied by a quartet with Russ Freeman on piano, Ben Tucker on bass, and Chuck Flores on drums. This mono edition of the Tone Poet series was produced by Joe Harley, mastered by Kevin Gray from the original analog tapes, pressed on 180g vinyl at RTI, and packaged in a deluxe tip-on jacket. For jazz lovers, it is an essential addition to any collection.
