Bill Frisell – Orchestras (CD)

'Orchestras' is a double CD by renowned guitarist Bill Frisell, released on April 19, 2024. This album captures two exceptional concert collaborations of his trio with bassist Thomas Morgan and drummer Rudy Royston: one with the nearly 60-member Brussels Philharmonic Orchestra led by Alexander Hanson, and the other with the 11-member Umbria Jazz Orchestra under the musical direction of Manuele Morbidini. Frisell's signature guitar beautifully intertwines with Michael Gibbs' symphonic arrangements, creating a rich and captivating listening experience. The album includes interpretations of well-known pieces such as 'Lush Life' and 'We Shall Overcome', as well as Frisell's own compositions, with each track revealing his unique musical expression.
