Charlie Haden – The Golden Number (Vinyl)

'The Golden Number' is an album by double bassist Charlie Haden, released on June 7, 2024. This remastered album is part of the Verve By Request series and is pressed on 180-gram vinyl at Third Man Pressing in Detroit. The album features four duets with prominent jazz musicians: Don Cherry (trumpet/flute), Archie Shepp (tenor saxophone), Hampton Hawes (piano), and Ornette Coleman (trumpet). Hawes' interpretation of Coleman's tune 'Turnaround' is a standout moment on this largely experimental album. The release is presented in an elegant gatefold sleeve, adding a distinctive charm to this classic jazz work.
