Joe Henderson – Mode For Joe (Vinyl)

Joe Henderson's 1966 album "Mode For Joe" is the pinnacle of his work in the 1960s. This energetic jazz album presents Henderson in an expanded lineup with a septet that includes Lee Morgan on trumpet, Curtis Fuller on trombone, Bobby Hutcherson on vibraphone, Cedar Walton on piano, Ron Carter on bass, and Joe Chambers on drums. Together they deliver six dynamic tracks, including Henderson originals "A Shade of Jade", "Caribbean Fire Dance", and "Granted", as well as Morgan's "Free Wheelin'". Especially notable is the title track by Walton, which is considered a masterpiece of modal jazz. This Blue Note Classic Vinyl edition is stereo, fully analog, remastered by Kevin Gray from the original tapes, and pressed on 180-gram vinyl at Optimal.
