Jon Balke – SKRIFUM (CD)

Jon Balke, renowned Norwegian pianist, presents the album 'Skrifum', released on 28 February 2025. This solo piano project pushes the boundaries of improvisation using the Spektrafon instrument, which Balke co-developed. Spektrafon makes it possible to manipulate the piano’s ambient sound in real time, creating layers of harmonic chords and ethereal tones. The result is an immersive musical experience that combines traditional piano techniques with modern sonic experiments. The album was recorded in November 2023 at Village Recording studio in Copenhagen and produced by Manfred Eicher and Jon Balke.
