Ólafur Arnalds & Alice Sara Ott – THE CHOPIN PROJECT (2015) (CD)

'The Chopin Project' is a unique collaboration between Icelandic composer Ólafur Arnalds and German-Japanese pianist Alice Sara Ott, offering a fresh perspective on Frédéric Chopin's works. Arnalds selected a program of Chopin pieces that create an emotional arc, complementing them with his own compositions for string quintet, piano, and synthesizer, resulting in an intimate and dreamlike atmosphere. The recordings were made on old, modified pianos using vintage recording techniques, giving the music a distinctive character. This album is a must-have for classical music enthusiasts seeking new interpretations.
