CD DANCING ON THE BEACH - THE EARLY YEARS 1960-62

Owen Gray, a pioneer of Jamaican music, was one of the first local artists to make it onto recordings in the late 1950s and topped the local charts in 1959. His album 'Owen Gray Sings' was a breakthrough release in the history of reggae and Island Records. This compilation 'Dancing On The Beach - The Early Years 1960-62' includes the entire album along with additional recordings from the pre-ska era that show the rapid development of the Jamaican music scene. Released on 15 September 2023 on CD, it offers listeners an authentic experience of the beginnings of Jamaican popular music.
