Released in December 1965, Rubber Soul is the album on which The Beatles stopped behaving like a touring band and started working like a studio. The sitar on Norwegian Wood, the fuzz bass on Think For Yourself, the piano sped up into a harpsichord on In My Life – ideas that had no place in pop music until then. Alongside them sit Drive My Car, Michelle, Nowhere Man and Girl. The edition released on 2 October 2026 carries a new stereo mix by Giles Martin and Sam Okell, made directly from the original four-track tapes, opening the record up further than it has ever been heard.
