The Youniverse – Neon (Vinyl)

Neon is, after the EP Raise Hell Kid (2016) and the critically well-received double album CMYK, released on vinyl by Bruuder Records (2018), essentially already the third full-length album of the extravagant band The Youniverse. The album is bright, radiant, sexy, fun, at times a little blinding. But for me it will always be an album with a broken heart. An album about loss. NEON feels like a scene from a Wong Kar-Wai film. The album was originally planned together with an eponymous tour back in 2020, but the Covid-19 pandemic halted the plans. The band therefore decided to start releasing the album gradually as individual singles along with visually elaborate music videos. Thus the now well-known single Unfollow Me?! came out first, followed by the tracks Video Love and Cold Hearted Parter, then the song Lime, and finally the ballad Darts. So on the album NEON we will find five more hidden gems.
