Avenged Sevenfold (A7X) is an American heavy metal band from Huntington Beach, California, formed in 1999. The current lineup consists of vocalist M. Shadows, rhythm guitarist Zacky Vengeance, lead guitarist Synyster Gates, bassist Johnny Christ, and drummer Brooks Wackerman. The band has released eight studio albums, including "City of Evil" (2005), "Nightmare" (2010), and "The Stage" (2016). Their musical style has evolved from metalcore to heavy metal and progressive metal. Avenged Sevenfold has received awards such as "Best New Artist" at the MTV Video Music Awards in 2006 and "Album of the Year" at the Kerrang! Awards in 2008.
