Bud Shank was an American jazz saxophonist and flutist, known for his work in west coast jazz and bossa nova. Clare Fischer was an American pianist, composer, and arranger who worked in jazz, Latin American, and pop music. Together, they recorded the album "Bossa Nova Jazz Samba" in 1962, which contributed to the popularization of bossa nova in the United States. This album includes tracks like "Samba de Orfeu" and "Manhã de Carnaval." Their collaboration blended jazz improvisations with Latin American rhythms, influencing other musicians in this genre.
