CBGB

CBGB was a music club in New York City, founded in 1973 by Hilly Kristal in Manhattan's East Village. Initially focused on country, bluegrass, and blues, the club became a renowned venue for punk rock and new wave scenes, hosting bands such as the Ramones, Dead Boys, Television, Patti Smith Group, Blondie, and Talking Heads. CBGB became a center for hardcore punk in the 1980s, featuring performances by bands like Agnostic Front, Cro-Mags, and Youth of Today. The club closed in 2006 following rent disputes.
