Mikis Theodorakis

Mikis Theodorakis was a Greek composer renowned for his film scores, including "Zorba the Greek" (1964), "Z" (1969), and "Serpico" (1973). Beyond film music, he composed over 1,000 songs and several symphonies. His "Mauthausen Trilogy" is considered one of the most beautiful musical works about the Holocaust. Theodorakis was also active in politics, serving in the Greek parliament and known for his resistance to Greece's military dictatorship from 1967 to 1974.
