Miroslav Vitouš

Miroslav Vitouš is a Czech jazz bassist, known as a founding member of the group Weather Report. Born in Prague in 1947, he studied at the Prague Conservatory and received a scholarship to Berklee College of Music in 1966. Throughout his career, he collaborated with artists such as Chick Corea, Jack DeJohnette, and Jan Garbarek. His notable albums include "Infinite Search" and "Universal Syncopations". Vitouš is recognized for his contributions to jazz fusion and his innovative approach to playing the double bass.
