Radu Lupu

Radu Lupu was a Romanian pianist renowned for his interpretations of works by composers such as Beethoven, Brahms, Grieg, Mozart, Schubert, and Schumann. After winning international piano competitions between 1966 and 1969, he embarked on a global career, collaborating with leading orchestras and festivals worldwide. He recorded for Decca Records, with his performances of Schubert's Impromptus receiving critical acclaim. In 1995, he won a Grammy Award for Best Instrumental Soloist Performance (without orchestra) for his album of Schubert's piano sonatas. In 2019, he announced his retirement from the concert stage.
