Run-DMC

Run-DMC was an American hip-hop group formed in 1983 in Queens, New York. The members were Joseph "Run" Simmons, Darryl "D.M.C." McDaniels, and Jason "Jam Master Jay" Mizell. The group is known for its contribution to popularizing hip-hop, particularly through the 1986 album "Raising Hell," which featured the hit "Walk This Way" in collaboration with Aerosmith. Run-DMC was the first hip-hop group nominated for a Grammy Award and was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2009. Jam Master Jay was murdered in 2002; two men were convicted for his murder in 2024.
