Sigur Rós

Sigur Rós is an Icelandic post-rock band from Reykjavík, active since 1994. The group consists of vocalist and guitarist Jón Þór "Jónsi" Birgisson, bassist Georg Hólm, and keyboardist Kjartan Sveinsson. They are known for their ethereal sound, Jónsi's falsetto vocals, and the use of bowed guitar. Their music incorporates classical and minimalist aesthetic elements. Notable albums include "Ágætis byrjun" (1999), "Takk..." (2005), and "Kveikur" (2013). In 2023, they released their eighth studio album, "Átta". The band has collaborated with various artists and received several awards, including the Shortlist Music Prize for "Ágætis byrjun".
