The Mellow Fellows

The Mellow Fellows was an American blues and rhythm and blues group that originated in the 1970s in Carbondale, Illinois. Initially known as Big Twist and the Mellow Fellows, the band gained popularity for their energetic sound and charismatic frontman, Larry "Big Twist" Nolan. After Nolan's death in 1990, the group continued as The Mellow Fellows with new vocalist Martin Allbritton. Their 1990 album "Street Party" features a mix of blues and soul tracks, including a cover of John Hiatt's "Feels Like Rain." The band is recognized for their contribution to the Chicago blues scene and collaborations with musicians like Gene "Daddy G" Barge.
