The Three Sounds

The Three Sounds was an American jazz group formed in 1956 in Indiana. The original trio consisted of Gene Harris (piano), Andrew Simpkins (bass), and Bill Dowdy (drums). The group was known for their accessible style, blending elements of hard bop and soul jazz. Throughout their career, they recorded several albums for Blue Note Records, including "Introducing the Three Sounds" (1958) and "Bottoms Up!" (1959).
