Peter Gabriel

Peter Gabriel is an English singer, songwriter, and musician who gained fame as the original frontman of the rock band Genesis. After leaving the band in 1975, he embarked on a successful solo career, with his fifth album, "So" (1986), becoming his best-selling work. This album features the hit "Sledgehammer," which won nine awards at the 1987 MTV Video Music Awards. Gabriel is known for his contributions to world music, co-founding the WOMAD festival in 1982 and establishing the Real World Records label. He actively engages in humanitarian efforts, including collaborations with Amnesty International and co-founding the organization Witness in 1992.
