Chieli Minucci is an American guitarist and composer, best known as the co-founder of the band Special EFX. Formed in 1982 with drummer George Jinda, the group blended elements of rock, Latin rhythms, and smooth jazz. After Jinda's departure in 1995, Minucci continued performing under the name Chieli Minucci and Special EFX. Notable albums include "Jewels" (1995), "Renaissance" (1996), and "Night Grooves" (2003). Minucci has won three Daytime Emmy Awards for music direction and composition for the series "The Guiding Light" in 1999, 2007, and 2008.
